Refinance options for Sydney residents
Sydney is the New South Wales capital and Australia's largest city. Whether you are buying in Sydney or anywhere in NSW, Loanseekers can help you check refinance loan options through a panel of 70+ lenders. Start your enquiry online in about 60 seconds. No obligation to proceed.
Sydney's car market is the country's biggest and most competitive, which cuts both ways: plenty of dealer stock and private listings to choose from, but also sharper prices on popular models that can move quickly. Having finance sorted before you shop puts you in a position to commit when the right car appears.
Refinance through Loanseekers works the same way across Australia: one enquiry, experienced review, and lender options matched to your profile.
How refinance work in Sydney

Lender availability depends on your circumstances and lender criteria.

NSW costs to budget for beyond the refinance loan
Stamp duty. New South Wales charges motor vehicle duty at $3 per $100 of the vehicle's value up to $44,999. Above $45,000 it is $1,350 plus $5 per $100 over that threshold, and only the excess is charged at the higher rate. On a $40,000 car that works out to $1,200 in duty.
Registration and CTP. NSW registration is an $84 base fee plus a motor vehicle tax set by vehicle weight (about $391 a year for a typical mid-size car). CTP insurance, the green slip, is separate in NSW: you buy it from a licensed insurer before registering, and prices vary by insurer and postcode, so it pays to compare on the government's green slip price checker.
Worth knowing in NSW. Light vehicles with private registration renewals between September 2026 and August 2027 get a one-off $100 discount on the motor vehicle tax, and unlike some states the duty above $45,000 is marginal, so crossing the threshold does not reprice the whole car.
