Refinance options for Perth residents

Perth is the Western Australian capital. Whether you are buying in Perth or anywhere in WA, Loanseekers can help you check refinance loan options through a panel of 70+ lenders. Start your enquiry online in about 60 seconds. No obligation to proceed.

Perth's isolation means its car market is largely self-contained: most stock is local, and east-coast cars carry real freight costs to bring over. That makes pre-arranged finance useful twice, once for moving quickly on scarce local stock, and again for weighing up whether an interstate buy still stacks up after transport.

Refinance through Loanseekers works the same way across Australia: one enquiry, experienced review, and lender options matched to your profile.

How refinance work in Perth

Perth buyers using Loanseekers start with one online enquiry: no branch visit, no multiple applications. A finance specialist reviews your details and can help identify lender pathways suited to your profile, loan amount and asset type. Lender availability depends on your circumstances and lender criteria.

Popular refinance loan scenarios for Perth residents

  • Buying from a Perth dealership
  • Financing a private sale in Perth or WA
  • Refinancing an existing refinance loan
  • ABN holders and self-employed buyers in Perth

WA costs to budget for beyond the refinance loan

Stamp duty. Western Australia charges vehicle licence duty at 2.75% of the value up to $25,000, then a sliding rate that climbs through the $25,000 to $50,000 band, reaching a flat 6.5% on the whole value above $50,000. On a $40,000 car the sliding scale lands at 5%, which works out to $2,000 in duty, the highest of any state at that price.

Registration and CTP. WA registration is charged by vehicle weight (about $513 a year for a typical 1,650 kg car), and CTP, called Motor Injury Insurance, is bundled into the licence renewal through the Insurance Commission of WA with no insurer choice; the family-car premium is $520.50 for 2026-27, so a typical car runs about $1,040 a year all-in.

Worth knowing in WA. The sliding-scale rate in the $25,000 to $50,000 band applies to the entire value, not just the excess, so duty rises steeply through that range. WA's former $3,500 zero-emission rebate closed in May 2025 and EVs now pay full duty.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions: Refinance Perth

No. Your initial Loanseekers enquiry does not affect your credit score. A credit check only happens if you proceed to a formal application with a lender.
